Things to do in Cannes

Swim, read, top up your suntan or simply pose on one of Cannes' many beaches! All of the 5 star hotels along La Criosette have their own private beaches and the most exclusive of these are the Carlton International, the Martinez or the Noga Hilton.

Stroll along Cannes' wonderful shopping street Rue D'Antibes, stopping to visit shops like Tara Jarmon, Jacques Loup, Sephora, Loup 47, 123, Missoni, Old England, Vilebrequin, or simply window shop in some of the more extravagant (that is, unless you really need those gold taps!)

Stop for a 'tasse du cafe' or a glass of wine at any of the street cafes and rest those feet after all that shopping.

Stroll around the Old Port area. Here you'll find fishing and working boats moored side-by-side with luxury sail and motor yachts. The fishermen work on their nets right next to some of the most beautiful yachts in the world.

Pay Forville Market a visit to pick up all your fresh produce for lunch. Local fruit and vegetables are brought fresh to this market each day - vividly coloured and full of flavour - cherries, strawberries, tomatoes, salad, spinach - everything you will need to bring out the Jamie Oliver in your cooking!

Definitely worth a visit too if you are in the area, is the flower market at Forville. You can buy 30 scented roses here for €5 in summer.

Eat out in any one of the hundred or so restaurants in Cannes. Our favorite is La Cave, 9 bd de la République. Also recommended are Farfalla, La Pizza, Cafe Roma, Le Festival, Voilier and Le Petit Paris. Of course, don't miss the oysters and other wonderful seafood at Chez Astoux, Avenue Félix Faure - a truly interactive experience!

Walk along La Croisette - especially in the late evening after dinner when everyone strolls up and down. A place to see and be seen!

Visit the Palais des Fesitivals' tourist office, brimming with information on what is currently taking place in Cannes. The 'walk of fame' immediately outside is worth a look too, to see if you can spot the handprints of your favorite stars.

Take a morning out to visit nearby Saint Paul de Vence - a charming, fortified village on a hilltop, filled with art galleries, boutiques and sidewalk cafes.
